![]() ![]() This wipes info for all printers from the Mac. As a last resort, I tried resetting the printer setup in System Preferences. Tried installing latest driver from Brother. Re-ran wireless setup on the printer (it successfully connects to my network). I ran the gamut of tech support solutions from Apple and Brother. (Maybe related to latest MacOS update, 11.5.1?). A few days ago, my Brother laser printer (in my office) could not be found to print on it. They’ve both been working fine on my current WiFi network for well over a year. I’ve been using two printers, one in my LR, one in my office. I almost never need to ask for help to solve problems, but this one has me baffled. ![]() I’ve been using Macs since 1985, and spent my pre-retirement years working as a programmer, instructor, and system managers. Printers not showing on Print Preferences As requested elsewhere I'm starting a new thread. Thanks, in anticipation of a successful resolution. So except for the printer driver, have I missed something in new security settings etc that may be not letting print jobs to go via the direct route. (How's this for desperation) Turned off "Limit IP Address Tracking" in the off chance it was interfering - no success.Re-installed the printer after deleting all printer Libraries - no success.Reset the Printer System and re-added printer - no success.Removed and a re-added the printer - no success.Compared the setup in old MacMini to new MacMini - no obvious differences.Paused & Resumed the job in Printer Queue - no change. This is while the direct route above is going nowhere! I can print to the same printer from the MacMini (Monterey) by adding a printer share to my old MacMini (Catalina) using the same printer drivers. However, the printer print queue, just shows "Printing - Connected to printer" but goes no further. This device connects to the printer via its Web page and via CUPS.Ĭomputers and printer are wireless to the same network. Installed the latest available Sharp MX-C300W printer drivers, which was for MacOS 11 Big Sur - consider this not a big jump to Monterey.Īdded the printer - it recognises when the printer is in use or idle. ![]()
